Minutes of the
President Tetrick called the meeting to order at . (We waited due to poor weather.) Chaplain Jim Washburn gave the invocation; Kevin Yarnell led the pledge to the flag and Dwight lead the pledge to the SAR.
Members present: Dwight Tetrick, Marty Miller, Jim Washburn, Elwin Thrasher, Ted Dickerson, Joseph Hill, Jack Bolen, and Kevin Yarnell,
Welcome guests: Janett Tetrick, June Bolen, Don Middleton (prospective member), and Clint Roberts our speaker.
The membership approved the minutes of the May published in the newsletter with one correction. The treasury balance was correct to $2,378.19 from $2,378.68.
The Secretary read a thank
you note from Leland Baldwin, our speaker last May. On behalf of Vice President
Bob Yarnell, the secretary briefly reviewed plans for the October picnic with
the CAR. The remaining details are to be decided at the BOG meeting that was
scheduled for Sept 27,
Treasurer Marty Miller reported the chapter's financial transactions over the course of the past month. The current balance is $2,413.54.
President Tetrick inducted Jack Bolen as the newest member of our chapter.
Ted Dickerson extended an invitation to join the Royal Artillary Company. Ted has been instrumental in this society which currently boasts 159 members.
No other old business was brought forth and the meeting recessed for lunch.
President Tetrick reconvened the meeting and introduced Clint Roberts as the recipient of the Fire Safety Medal. Mr. Roberts is a driver engineer and works with special operations rescues. He is currently in his fifteenth year with the Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue Department.
Mr. Roberts gave a few introductory remarks about his background and position then opened the floor to questions. This question and answer period was excellent and gave the membership a good understanding of the workings of the Fire and Rescue Department.
The 50/50 drawing fell to the secretary. The proceeds of $10.00 were donated to the treasury.
