Our Meetings

Generally, meetings for the Tampa Chapter are held on the third Saturday of each month, September to May at the Boy Scouts of America Service Center, 13228 North Central Ave. Tampa, FL 33612. Meetings begin at noon but members are encouraged to arrive as early as 11:30 for a time of camaraderie. A typical meeting begins with a short business meeting followed by the program. A light lunch is supplied by the chapter.


Wives, family, guests, and visiting members are always welcome.

Recent programs

April 2019: We held honored the winners of our youth contests including our annual ROTC awardees. Each year we honor the outstanding cadet from each local unit. We appreciate their taking the time to join us.

March 2019: Past President Charles Klug presented a program on George Washington’s “110 Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior”

February 2019: We presented awards to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue personnel and Sea Cadets

January 2019: We held our Officer Installation at the Rusty Pelican restaurant

December 2018 – Following a brief brunch meeting we participated in the Wreaths Across American ceremony with the Tampa American Legion

November 2018 – We presented SAR Public Service awards to outstanding first responders in our community

October 2018 – Compatriot Bob Yarnell discussed the Great Compromise of the Constitutional Convention

September 2018 – We presented the SAR Life Saving Medal to two Tampa Police officers

May 2018: Tampa SAR member, Robert Yarnell spoke on “A Revolution not made but prevented”
