Minutes of the September 15, 2007 meeting
of the Tampa Chapter SAR
The secretary is grateful for the notes submitted to
him by Jack Bolen, Luke Lloyd, and Ed Neugaard,
regarding the meeting events. The following minutes are a compilation of their
notes.
President Neugaard called the meeting to order at
Members present: Ed
Neugaard, Alan Bell, Marty Miller, Luke Lloyd, Jack Bolen, John Sessums, Don Weir, Charles McClung- a soon to be transfer
into the chapter, and others
Welcome
guests: Bob Hardaway, Helen Clark, June Bolen, Jeanne Lloyd, Diane Siddon, and others
The guests were introduced.
There was no secretary or
treasurer’s report.
Allen Bell reported that the
color guard. Is now officially “The Hillsborough River Camp #14” having done the necessary paperwork for the FLSSAR’s Sons of Liberty Brigade. The group has plans to
participate in a Veterans day function in November.
The registrar, Luke Lloyd,
gave an update on continuing work with prospective members one of whom is
interested in the color guard.
The President asked for
volunteers to form a nominating committee to come up with a slate of candidates
to be presented at next month's meeting. Alan Bell, Luke Lloyd and Jack Bolen
agreed to serve.
The President then awarded
War Service medals to Luke Lloyd (
The meeting recessed for lunch.
President
Neugaard introduced Compatriot Bell who introduced our speaker, Diane Siddon
from the Florida Geneological Society who discussed
taking your "dead" family tree - in other words just names and dates
- and making it live with stories.
President Neugaard led the recessional. Chaplain Lloyd offered the
benediction. The meeting adjourned at
